“[L]ean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
-Proverbs 3:5-6

I’ve hustled for a good wage
Was pleased with my high pay
Had my plan all figured out (but then things)
Turned a different way

I loved what I was teaching
My students were engaged
Then problems unexpected forced a
Quick turn of the page

It’s not easy letting go
Of how I thought it’d be
Still inside I know you’ve got a
Better plan for me

It’s hard to take a pay cut
(I know it’s for the best)
When baby girls are coming
Their mama’s gotta rest!

  1. Bed rest is rough! This has been my favorite scriptures since I was 10. Eventually the growth outweighs the difficulties but it’s not easy getting there. Your faith will be rewarded! Hang in there sister!
